The Smartfold™ UV/LED Lamp

Our newly developed SmartFold UV/LED lamp is made for anyone who wants effective curing of the whole hand at home, without keeping a large lamp out on display. It fits all five nails at once, yet folds completely flat in just seconds when you're done.

You unfold it, place it on a flat surface and put your hand into the enclosed light chamber. On top you choose between three programs: 60 seconds standard curing, 10 seconds flash cure to quickly set the product, or 90 seconds Low Heat Mode, where the light builds up more gently to reduce the heat sensation on thin or sensitive nails.

The nerdy explanation

SmartFold is built with an enclosed, reflective light chamber, 20 LED bulbs and dual wavelength at 365 and 405 nm. This matches the specifications required by all of The Gel Collection's gels (both the original 21FREE and the new 21FREE+) and ensures correct curing in 60 seconds.

The reflective chamber helps distribute the light evenly around the nails – including from the sides – while the foldable construction lets you fold the back in and the legs up, so the lamp becomes completely flat.

In other words: full-size curing, smart storage and easier nails at home.

How the lamp is used in your routine – step by step

This routine is a classic Gel Polish manicure – the lamp cures every single layer.

1. Prep – file length and shape, push back the cuticles, buff the surface lightly, clean with cleaner and apply primer (air-dries in 60 sec.). Watch the prep video guide →
2. Base coat – a very thin layer, seal the free edge, and cure the whole hand in the lamp.
3. Gel Polish colour – two thin coats, cure in the lamp between coats. Use flash cure to hold the shape while building reinforcements.
4. Top coat – seal the free edge, and cure in the lamp.The lamp is used in steps 2, 3 and 4 – curing times are on each product
5. Nail oil – wash your hands and finish with oil at the cuticles and under the nail.
