About our Rubber Base

Rubber Base is a strengthening gel that cures under UV/LED light and gives your natural nails extra strength while keeping their natural feel and flexibility. It can be worn alone for a natural, well-groomed look in the beautiful Rubber Base shades, or as a strengthening foundation beneath a Gel Polish colour.

Our innovative 21FREE+ Rubber Base formula from The Gel Collection is developed to provide strength while following the nail's natural movements. That makes it especially well suited to thin, soft or flexible nails that need extra support — so they break less, and your manicure gets a better chance to last.

Once cured, Rubber Base stays flexible. That means it follows the natural movements of your nails throughout the day instead of working against them, reducing the risk of both breakage and lifting. You get extra strength without your nails feeling stiff or unnecessarily thick.

It's the beautiful, natural colour you notice first. But it's the flexible strength and the feeling of more resilient nails that make you come back.

The nerdy explanation

Your natural nails bend and move slightly during the day. If the product on top is too stiff, tension can build between the nail and the product, which over time can cause the edges to lift.

Rubber Base 21FREE+ cures into a flexible layer that moves with the nail and returns to its original shape. In short: less resistance, less risk of lifting, and a foundation that works with your nails — not against them.

How to strengthen with Rubber Base – step by step

Strengthening gives your natural nail strength and flexibility – and you can add colour on top if you like.

1. Prep – file length and shape, push back the cuticles, buff the surface lightly, clean with cleaner and apply primer (air-dries in 60 sec.). Watch the prep video guide →
2. Base coat – a very thin layer, seal the free edge, and cure the whole hand in the lamp. Some rubber bases don't need a base coat – check yours.
3. Reinforce with Rubber Base – first brush a very thin slip layer over the whole nail (without curing). Place a small bead in the centre of the nail, push it towards the cuticle and out to the sides, and pull the rest evenly towards the tip – seal the free edge. Turn the nail upside down so the gel forms a natural apex. Flash-cure 10 sec. per nail, and fully cure the whole hand at the end.This product is used in step 3
4. File the shape (if desired) – remove the sticky layer with a wipe and cleaner, file the nail, and wipe it free of dust.
5. Gel Polish colour (optional) – two thin coats on top of the reinforcement, cure between coats.
6. Top coat – seal the free edge, and cure.
7. Nail oil – wash your hands and finish with oil at the cuticles and under the nail.
